Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Tom Brady’s brand new NFT collection will be hitting the DraftKings marketplace.
Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is debuting a new NFT collection containing highlights of his early football career. April this year saw the launch of Brady’s Autograph, an NFT platform which features NFTs of renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk, hockey great Wayne Gretzky, tennis star Naomi Osaka, golfer Tiger Woods, and others, including his Tampa Bay colleague Rob Gronkowski.
Brady’s first NFT collection was a smash hit, and he’s giving current NFT holders first dibs on the latest “Live Forever: The Tom Brady Origins Collection,” which includes 16,600 memorabilia from his early NFL days. Preseason Access Pass holders will be allowed to begin collecting on December 7, 2021, at 10 p.m. GMT, with the public drop happening on December 9, until supplies last. The pass holders are offered mystery boxes, purchasable on DraftKings. Brady’s Rookie Card, College Resume, Combine Cleats, Combine Jersey, and Combine Stopwatch are all possibilities for the mystery boxes. The NFL Scouting Combine is a nerve-wracking exercise occurring every February where aspiring NFL players undergo physical and mental testing for a week in front of NFL management and coaching officials; and Brady was one of the last to be picked at the 2000 combine.
Carbon, Platinum, Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby are the five categories of rarity for each of the collectables in the drop. Anyone collecting five items of the same rarity by the “Activation Deadline” will earn an Immortal Statue of that rarity. Mystery boxes will be allowed to be opened from December 14, 2021 — the reveal date.
Brady’s Autograph has partnered with Canadian-American entertainment company Lionsgate and sports betting operator DraftKings. Brady and his wife, Gisele Bundchen, share equity in Sam Bankman-Fried’s FTX, which resulted in the couple appearing in an FTX advertisement.
