Bitcoin mining group, Bitfury announced to open a new 28MW digital asset mining data centre in Sarnia, Ontario. The project has begun operations, with a capacity of 16 MW expected by the end of February and a further 12 MW planned by the end of May. The project has the capacity to grow to 200MW.
Bitfury’s own blockchain software and hardware solutions, including specialised ASIC chips and other high-performance mining equipment, are installed at the Sarnia site. The new facility adds to Bitfury’s existing active digital asset mining locations in North America, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe/Central Asia, expanding the company’s hosting capacity.
